OPPORTUNITY-TO-BALLOT PRIMARY RACES

CLINTON COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS POLICY REGARDING CANVASING OF WRITE-IN VOTES FOR OPPORTUNITY-TO-BALLOT PRIMARY RACES

In Primary races caused by Opportunity-to-Ballot petitions, where no candidate names and ovals appear in the candidate boxes, it is possible that voters might write-in a name for the candidate of their choosing in that box, rather than the one marked for write-in candidates, which appears in the following line on the ballot. See the below illustration.

If that occurs, that vote will not be counted.

This Policy was agreed upon by Commissioners Mary Dyer and Gregory Campbell on the 25th of June, 2018.
