Welcome to Clinton County DMV!!

* We now have a drop box, located right outside our office door, along with a magazine rack where all our forms are located.  The drop box is locked at all times and is checked daily.  Please use this box for Registration Renewals, Payments (civil penalties, insurance lapses, suspension terminations), License Renewals (as long as you do not need a new picture and your vision test is complete), Plate Surrenders and other things (check with the help desk first).  Please make sure to leave your phone number and payment with each thing you drop in the box.  We will process it the same day and either mail you your documents or call you for pick up.  Please take advantage of this timesaving feature we now offer!

* Have a QUESTION and can't seem to reach us on the phone?  Email us at deanna.rock@clintoncountyny.gov for answers to your questions, forms and transactions, in some cases.  You can also have your Insurance Cards or other documents emailed directly to her and they will be in the office waiting for you when you arrive.  Emails are answered throughout the day.

Insurance Lapse?  Please email Deanna and she will help take care of this issue for you.

*We are open to the public with NO appointments needed.  Our hours of operation are Monday -Friday from 8am to 3:45.  Our staff needs to be out of the office by 4pm, so if you are not in front of one of our cashiers by 3:45, you will be asked to come back.  We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

*If you are coming in to take a permit test, you MUST be seated at the testing station by 3pm for regular permits and 2pm for CDL permits.

* We do Enhanced and REAL ID upgrades.  These must be scanned and completed by 3:30pm.

*For all Titled Vehicles and Trailers that are purchased for $500 or less, the seller MUST fill out section 6 of the DTF 802 for your bill of sale.  There are no exceptions to this rule.  Please see a Supervisor if you have any questions.

*Any Dealerships looking to get vehicles registered for your New York customers, please email Deanna.  We will process deals for anywhere in New York State.  We do not charge for our services, like some of the third party vendors you go through.  We also have a very quick turn around!  This feature can be used by the general public as well!
